AIMing For Him

A Mickey Mouse Week

I just heard this phrase used the other day while talking about cars with a couple of guys after a worship service we had at a church in Woranga.

The proper definition for the slang is:
Mickey Mouse : excellent, very good.

I thought that was a proper good definition of how the last couple of weeks have been. Really I am enjoying so much being here, being able to work with Blacktown Church but also being able to have fellowship with all the churches in Sydney area.

This past week I had some pretty awesome events happen. I went to a youth rally in Gosford, where there are six other AIMers working, and I was able to meet a lot of the youth there and from all over Sydney area. The next day after morning services and class I went with my teammate Jonathan and a young adult from the church named Michael to play football with fellow Christians from all around Sydney area. We had a really great time, especially because we weren't playing American football, which they call grind iron here; we played some variation of rugby that is very popular here in Australia.

After that event we headed off to Woranga for an awesome evening worship time followed by a speaker from the Macquarie School of Biblical Studies that we went to a lectureship the week before at. It was really great and we were able to meet even more Christians from all around Sydney area.

On monday Jonathan and I spent some time in the Blue Mountains with Michael and his friend Carl, we were able to go hiking and sight see a little bit around the Blue Mountains, despite it being heavy fog because of rain and how cold it was.

This past weekend I was able to go to another lectureship in Castle Hill, I lectureship that was all about Unity and different churches coming together despite their differences. We talked about so really core issues that face different churches today with disunity, matter of faith and matter of opinion. I felt like I really got a lot out of it and was really encouraged by the speakers and the fellow Christians that stood up and said that they wanted to be unified with churches despite their differences.

I also began teaching a younger kids class on Sundays starting this past Sunday. It has really been interesting for me because despite have a younger sister and saying her in bible classes I have never really seen much of younger bible classes and I have definitely not being able to help or teach with them until now. One of the younger children here in Blacktown, name Hayley, has really taken a liking to Jonathan and I, especially me, and invited us for tea and biscuits this past week. That was really nice, considering that her family is all part of the church here in Blacktown and she has two other siblings that Jonthan and I were able to spend time with and play with.

Other then those main events we have been spend lots of time visiting various people in the church during the week. That has really been great and everyone's homes that we go to our all so sweet and nice to us, they really have taken us into their homes and lives. We were able to do some service work for one of the older ladies in the church here like gardening and cleaning out her garage and she said that she was very grateful for our work and for letting God serve through us.

Jonthan and I are beginning to do evangelistic work at an internet cafe in Seven Hills, which is the next town over for ours. Right now we are just trying to meet people and kind of get in with the crowd of people there, as there are an abundance of youth that go there after school. Please pray that God blessed our work in that regard and that we are fruitful in that work.

I will be preaching next Sunday, this will be my first time preaching in front of Blacktown Church, please pray for my boldness and ability to speak God's word clearly.

Thank you again for all that you have done for me with support and prayers, I ask something though knowing that God has already provided for me. I ask that if there is anyone among you or yourselves that can help me further financially to live and work here in Blacktown I pray that if you are able to, that you can. The expenses that I am facing and are about to face have put major crunches of me financially, I know though that the Lord provides and that He will continue to provide for me in this time.

I love you all with the love of the Lord!

In Him,
Zachary W.

What a joy and blessing it is to hear of these stories. Keep serving others and loving everyone above yourself, and they will see Him in us.

Keep fighting the good fight, brother. Keep the faith.
